Bill/Will, or affectionately known as Gumba, Burlo and Nonno passed away on Saturday. He is welcomed into the arms of the Lord with no more pain, hurt or frustration from the ravages of Parkinson's disease.
Wilfred was born in Sonoma, CA where he attended graduated from Sonoma Valley Union High School. He studied interior design at University of California, but left to serve his country, enlisting in the US Navy, May 1942 as Pharmacist Mate. He served aboard the SS Mormac Port in the European and South Pacific Theaters of action.
He began his career in Interior Design in 1947 as an associate at Sterling Furniture Company in San Francisco as a stock boy and left the company as manager in 1960 starting his business in Walnut Creek, International Interiors.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Patricia (Pat); his children Gail Martin (Bill) of Brentwood, Kelly Quartaroli (Suzue) of Walnut Creek, Clark Quartaroli (Ramona) of Suisun City and his grandchildren Analicia "Annie" Martin of Oakley, Seiichi Quartaroli of Walnut Creek, Guido Quartaroli of Walnut Creek and Leonido Quartaroli of Dublin .He was preceded in death by his grandson Mario Quartaroli in 2008.
Memorial Mass will be held at St. Mary's Church in Walnut Creek on Tuesday, December 18, at 10:00am: Reception will follow in the parish hall.
