Rolin Cantfort Obituary


 

Rollin Van Cantfort Longtime Walnut Creek Resident Rollin Frederick Van Cantfort passed away at the age of 85 in Concord, CA. Mr. Van Cantfort was born on October 13, 1925 in Akron, Ohio. He graduated from Cathedral Latin School and later enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and was a veteran of World War II, the Korean and Vietnam Wars. His distinguished military career included a Purple Heart, two Bronze Stars and numerous other awards and citations. He retired to San Francisco in 1971 at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Mr. Van Cantfort was a long time resident of Walnut Creek and an active member of St John Vianney Catholic Church. Mr. Van Cantfort is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years Marilyn; sons Rollin, Thomas, Michael, Christopher, Lawrence and Gregory; brother August and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his only daughter Lynda Ann Quiriconi; his daughter-in-law Misako Van Cantfort and his granddaughter Brandi Van Cantfort. Services will be held at 2:00pm at Oakmont Mortuary, 2099 Reliez Valley Rd., Lafayette, California on Tuesday, November 2, 2010. Viewing 1:00pm, service to follow at 2:00pm. Donations may be made to the American Red Cross in lieu of flowers.
