Dick was born in the Upper Peninsula town of Escanaba, MI to parents William and Thyra Cleereman. After graduating from Escanaba High he went to St. Norbert College in De Pere, WI before earning a Bachelor's Degree from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI. He served in the U.S. Army's CIC as the Korean War was ending. After serving his country, he soon settled in San Francisco, CA where he worked in investment banking for over 30 years. During retirement he most loved traveling to his cabin in Big Trees, CA.
Dick is survived by Sue, his wife of 48 years; son John of Cambodia; daughter Amy Pinedo and her husband Mario Sr. of Fresno; grandson Mario Jr. currently residing in the Bay Area; and brother James of Escanaba. He was preceded in death by brother Bill and sister Mary.
Funeral services will be held at St. Monica Catholic Church in Moraga on Friday, August 21, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. Donations can be made to Fisher Center for Alzheimer's Research Foundation.
