Peno Banducci Obituary

Peno Banducci Oct. 19, 1915 ~ Oct. 14, 2010 Resident of Alamo Beloved father of Marie Banducci of Santa Rosa and Ron (Sue) Banducci of Danville; loving grandfather of Michelle (John Clausen) Banducci of Pleasanton, Erika (Kian) Tavakoli of Napa, and Kyle (Amy) Ruthnick of Portland, Oregon; and devoted great-grandfather of Emily, Kayla, Kira, and Niko. He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Grace; and by brothers Bruno and Geno. Born in Arcata in Humbolt County, Peno moved to Richmond as a child and graduated from Richmond High School in 1933. He married Grace in 1940 and together they resided in Richmond for 67 years. For the past 3 years he has been a resident of Megan House in Alamo, where he passed October 14. A member of St. Cornelius Church in Richmond, Peno was active in the Italian Catholic Federation. He was also a member of the Galileo Club and Stella Lodge. Peno served in the Army during WW II and was honorably discharged in 1946. He worked for 30 years at the Santa Fe Railway maintenance shops in Richmond, where he worked as a car inspector until his retirement in December 1976. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Carmen of America and served for many years as Secretary Treasurer of Local No. 250. Family and friends are invited to attend the Rosary at 3:00pm, Tuesday October 19, at Wilson & Kratzer, 24th Street and Barrett Avenue in Richmond, and the Funeral Liturgy at 11:00am Wednesday October 20, at St. Cornelius Catholic Church, 28th Street & MacDonald Avenue in Richmond. Interment will be at St. Joseph Mausoleum in San Pablo following the Funeral Liturgy. In lieu of flowers, donations in Peno's memory may be made to St. Cornelius Parish, 255-28th Street, Richmond.
