Miriam McCormack Conover

Miriam McCormack Conover Mar. 24, 1926~Mar. 7, 2011 Resident of Moraga Miriam joined her beloved husband Bill, in Heaven on March 7, 2011. She passed away peacefully with family by her side. Raised in Rio Vista, CA, Miriam graduated Rio Vista High School in 1944 and College of the Pacific in 1948 with a BA in Business Administration and a minor in Music. Married in 1948, Miriam and Bill settled in Berkeley, then in Orinda where they raised their 4 children, Matt, Doug, Christie and Laura. Active in both Orinda Community Church and Moraga Valley Presbyterian Church, Miriam loved music, playing piano and organ, and singing in church choir. She was a Girl Scout Leader at Del Rey School, raised funds for American Heart Assoc and American Cancer Society, was a charter member of American Assoc of University Women, and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Miriam is survived by 4 siblings Mary Dorothy Bergman, Donald McCor-mack (Dottie), Malcolm McCormack (Nancy), and Alan McCormack (Joyce); 4 children Matt Conover, Doug Conover (Cathy), Christie James (Edwin) and Laurey Campbell (Charlie); and 9 grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff at Kaiser Hospital, Walnut Creek and at Bruns House for their compassionate and loving care of our mother during her stay there. Donations in Miriam's memory may be made to Bruns House, Hospice of the East Bay, 2849 Miranda Ave., Alamo, CA, 94507. A celebration of Miriam's life will be held Thursday, March 17 at 1:00pm at the Moraga Valley Presbyterian Church, 10 Moraga Valley Ln., Moraga, CA. A reception will follow.
