Merritt Coleman Obituary

Merritt Colman Resident of Walnut Creek Merritt Colman, 68, beloved husband and father passed away March 5. He is survived by his wife Kathee of Walnut Creek, and daughter Melanie, of Alameda. His last weeks were spent at the Bruns House in Alamo, California were he received loving care. He valiantly fought his cancer for four years while still traveling, serving on his homeowners' board and working for historic recognition for Eichler homes in Palo Alto. He was born in Oakland, California and recently attended his Oakland High School 50th reunion. Merritt loved sailing, traveling and home improvement projects. Merritt had a wonderful smile for everyone, a gentle nature and a delightful sense of humor which showed itself in many ways from silly jokes to funny hats as the cancer claimed his hair. Throughout his illness Merritt remained positive and determined. We miss him terribly. In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be sent to Hospice of the East Bay, 3470 Buskirk, Pleasant Hill, CA 94523. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
