Manuel Ferreira Aires Sr. 53 yr Resident of Martinez Manuel F. Aires Sr. passed away Friday, December 17, 2010 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in the Marco de Canaveses, Portugal, served in the Portuguese Navy and mmigrated to the United States in 1957. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years iane (Garcia) and their children, Darlene Silveira (husband Jose) of Antioch, Deborah Spinola (husband Paul) of Brentwood, Manuel F. Aires Jr. of Martinez and his grandchildren Joey, Steven and Mallissa Silveira, Victoria, Savannah and Celine Spinola, Manuel III, Anthony and Angelica Aires. He was a member of the Martinez Carpenters Union Local #152 for 53 yrs, the Flor do Oakley Holy Ghost Society, Our Lady of Fatima Society of Antioch and Thornton and the Luso American Frat. Assoc. Manuel was a hard working, devoted, loyal and loving husband and father. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 22nd at 6:00pm with a Rosary 7:00-8:00pm at Connolly and Taylor Funeral Services 4000 Alhambra Ave. Martinez, Funeral Mass Services will be on Thursday December 23rd at 10:00am at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church 602 Mellus St. Martinez.
