Lawrence M. Carr Sept. 30, 1927 ~ Oct. 28, 2010 Resident of Pacheco Larry passed away peacefully at the age of 83 with his family by his side. Larry joined the Merchant Marines, when he was 14 years old and continued until he retired 47 years later. Larry went on to become a driver for County Connection for 13 years and he received many awards for his compassion and work with the elderly. Many of Larry's idle hours were spent at the movies, sharing his hard candies. Larry's passion was traveling RV style with family, friends, and dogs taking in many states. Larry was born to Vicki and Jim Merritt in San Jose, then moving to Martinez before joining the Merchant Marines. He was predeceased by son Curtis in 2006. Larry is survived by his wife Charlene; daughter Tina Medeiros (Jim) of El Sobrante; grandsons Jacob and Nicholas; and father-in-law and best friend Jack Williams. He also left behind brothers and sisters-in-law; and many nieces, nephews and friends. There will be no services as Larry requested.
