Kenneth M Jernigan Resident of Concord Kenneth M. Jernigan, age 85, passed away peacefully in Concord on Saturday morning, January 15, 2011. Ken was born May 12, 1925 in Spokane, WA, one of two children of King M. and Lelia M. Jernigan. He grew up in Spokane and served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army Air Corps. Ken had a successful 35 year career working for Standard Oil Co. (later Chevron), in both Seattle and Concord. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he was also an avid tennis player and accomplished photographer, specializing in nature photography. He was a resident of Concord for 39 years. Ken will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 58 years, Anne H. Jernigan of Concord; beloved children Dianne L. McArthur and Daniel K. Jernigan (Judy), both of Lafayette; and seven cherished grandchildren, Tara, Scott, Sean, and Kelly McArthur, and Peter, Jacob, and Anna Jernigan. He was predeceased by his sister, Betty Gustafson in 2010. A memorial celebration of Ken's life will be at 2:00pm on Saturday, January 29, 2011, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2317 Buena Vista Avenue, Walnut Creek.
