Katherine Rose Kolbisen July 20, 1918 ~ Dec. 25, 2010 Resident of Walnut Creek Katherine Rose Kolbisen, passed peacefully in her home at 92 years of age. She was the eldest daughter of Sicilian emigrants and was born in North Beach, San Francisco. Most of her first 41 years she lived in Berkeley. She worked in her father's grocery store, Mike's Market, in Emeryville until she married Joseph and became a devoted homemaker. Kate enjoyed crafts, cooking, baking, family, friends, the A's and bingo. She volunteered many years at St John Vianney Catholic Church in Walnut Creek. Kate was predeceased by Joe, her loving husband of 60 years, and by her brothers, Mike and Tony Indelicato and her sister, Angela Lateana. Katherine is survived by her son, John Kolbisen, her 3 grandchildren, Hans Kolbisen, Liesl, Taner, and Anya Hall, as well as her 7 great-grand-children, Brooks, Channing, Vaughn Charis and Grey Taner, Tatum and Tanner Hall. A Memorial Liturgy will be held at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 1650 Ygnacio Valley Rd., Walnut Creek, Thursday, January 6, at 10:30am. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation to St. John Vianney or a favorite charity.
