Joyce was born in Minneapolis to Herman and Jennie Lund. She was employed by U.S. Government in Washington D.C. and Cargill Corp. in Minneapolis.
She met and married her husband Don Lee Nelson, a Navy Sailor on June 9, 1959. To this marriage a daughter Julie Ann was born. Joyce was active in her Lutheran Church with Alter Guild and Bible Study. She also enjoyed belonging to Daughters of Norway ASSE Lodge#33, where she was Treasurer for 25 years. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, daughter and grandchildren Kevin, Brian and Lauren. She will be missed by family and many friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 7557 Amador Valley Blvd., Dublin, CA 94568 on Saturday, November 26th at 3:00 PM. Reception to follow. In Lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Resurrection Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
