Joseph Gotz Resident of Clayton Joe passed away March 28, 2011 after a brave fight against kidney cancer. He was very courageous, never complained and was strong to the end for his family. Joe was born in New York City, attended Catholic schools, played Little League and was proud of serving as Altar Boy at St. Patrick's Cathedral, Manhattan. Graduated Alhambra High 1958. Joe lettered in varsity baseball and went on to play semi-pro ball. He earned an AA Degree from Diablo Valley College, a BA from UCSF and was just shy of his Masters in Public Administration. Joe also attended Golden Gate School of Law. Joe became a Concord Police Officer and served as a Sergeant for nearly twenty years. Later he started his own business, Joe Gotz Private Investigations and had a colorful career as an investigator doing criminal investigations. and risk management. Joe loved the game of golf and played avidly at Delta View where he was the club's treasurer. Joe is survived by his loving wife, Patti; son David (Barbara) of San Ramon; son Steven of Clayton; and three grandchildren Michael, Chris and Samantha Rose. A special thanks to the Chemo nurses of Kaiser Walnut Creek Infusion Center and his case nurse and social worker from Kaiser Hospice. Joe will be missed and loved always by his family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sat., April 9th, 2:30pm, St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, 5562 Clayton Road, Concord.
