John Paul Sbragia died on Sunday of a massive coronary, surrounded by family. He was a man of words and people. When he spoke, his words were insightful and typically humorous. He loved people, and brought joy to all who knew him.
Born in Reno Nevada, Paul grew up in the Sierra foothills, graduating from Placer High School, and earning a degree in business from Sierra College. A WWII veteran, he was one of the last group of recruits combat trained at Camp Roberts. He settled in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he worked for over 25 years at Zellerbach Paper Company.
Paul is survived by his loving wife, Geri, devoted children Paula Sbragia-Zoricic of Oakland, Ralph Sbragia of Anaheim and grandchildren Charles and Giovanni, as well as his sister Gloria, and her children who reside in the Sacramento area. He was a loving and devoted family man who will be missed by all who knew him.
The Rosary will be at Hulls Walnut Creek Chapel, 1139 Saranap Ave., Walnut Creek on Friday, March 18, 2011 at 7:30 pm. Mass of the Resurrection will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 2039 Mt. Diablo Blvd, Walnut Creek.
