Jeremiah Mark Rogers Jan. 31, 1954 ~ Feb. 19, 2011 Resident of Lafayette Jeremiah Mark Rogers passed away on Saturday, February 19, after a year-long battle with cancer. His life was devoted to his family and to his many activities in service to the community. His friendly attitude and quick wit was a joy to everyone who knew him. Mark was born in Santa Monica, CA, and graduated from Yorba Linda High School. He earned a bachelor in political science and a masters degree in city planning from the University of California, Berkeley. He worked for many years in social science research. He spent the last 15 years raising his children and donating his time to his many community activities. He enjoyed traveling with his family and becoming involved with his children's many sports and school functions. He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy and devoted children Megan and Eric, and was preceded in death by his son Jeffrey and his mother, Sheila Rogers. He is also survived by his father, Robert Rogers and his stepmother Mary Rogers; his brothers Father Vincent of St. Joseph's Abbey in Spencer, MA and Philip Rogers (wife Karen) of Temecula; and his sisters Sheila Baughmann (husband Tom) of Yorba Linda and Lisa Konoske (husband Tom) of Orange as well as numerous and nephews. Friends and family are invited to a celebration of his life at Santa Maria Catholic Church in Orinda March 19, 2011 at 11:00, where a Mass will be celebrated by his brother, Father Vincent. The service will be followed by a reception in the community room of the Lafayette Library from 12:00 to 2:30. The family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers
