Geri W. Trost, a long-time resident of Martinez and native of Richmond, passed away Sunday, February 10, 2013 at John Muir Medical Center in Concord. She was 78. A graduate of Richmond High School Class of 1952, Geri worked as a purchasing agent for 30 years. At the time she started her career, she was one of only 200 female purchasing agents in the country. She was a member, and the first baby born in the Church of Christ in Richmond, a church that was built by her grandmother. A member of the Martinez Yacht Club and Black Hawk Museum, Geri enjoyed art, both as an artist and collector. Geri was an avid traveler delighting in family getaways to the Napa Valley, and many years of cruising around the world.
Survived by her loving husband of nearly 58 years, Hal Trost; daughters and sons-in-law, Christi Mark Lackey and Brittney Trost Jeremiah Jacobs; grandchildren, Alair Rene' and Chad Lackey; and by her sisters-in-law, Guyla O'Shea and Jessie Trost.
Visitation Sunday, February 17, 2013 from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. at Sunset View Mortuary. Private interment at Sunset View Cemetery.
