Gerald "Jerry or Dick" Richard Brock, Jr. Resident of Concord Gerald Richard Brock, Jr., age 81, passed away Monday evening, November 29, 2010 at the Martinez Veterans Administration Hospital. Jerry was born May 30, 1929 in Portsmouth, Ohio, a son of Gerald Richard Brock Sr., and Thelma L. Workman Brock. The 46 year resident of Contra Costa County retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 20 years of service. He had previously served his country as a Sergeant in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War, receiving the Purple Heart Medal after being wounded in action at Honjon-ni, Korea in June of 1951. He was a member of the Orinda Masonic Lodge and Order of Eastern Star, and the East Bay Radio Controllers model aircraft club. His hobbies included flying radio controlled airplanes, and bowling. Jerry will be missed by his loving sons Gerald Richard Brock III of Oakland and Charles E. Brock (Mellisa Hannum) of Nevada City, CA; beloved sisters Betty Stucker of Indianapolis, IN and Marilyn Martin of Florida; and four cherished grandchildren Sarah Jean Brock, Cheryl Lynn Brock, Cathy Lee Brock, and Gerald Richard Brock IV. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00pm on Friday, Dec. 3, 2010 at Ouimet Bros. Concord Funeral Chapel, 4125 Clayton Rd., Concord. The Funeral Service will be at 11:00am on Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010 at Ouimet Bros. Chapel, with burial at Oakmont Memorial Park, Lafayette Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society .
