Flora Shepherd

Flora Shepherd Resident of Richmond Mrs. Flora Shepherd, affectionately known to her family and close friends as "Big Mama", passed away on October 1, 2010. She was a member of Mt. Carmel MBC in Richmond under the guidance of the late Pastor G.J. Williams, who preceded her. Big Mama was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of family, her love and support could never be replaced. She now joins her beloved husband, Marvin Shepherd, Sr. who preceded her in death July 19th, 1995 as well as her daughter Barbara Jean Owens; son Wayne A. Shepherd; and two grandchildren, Shaun Shepherd & Rashad Roberson. She leaves to cherish her memory, children Marvin Shepherd, Jr. of Pittsburg, CA, Lois Bradley, Gwendolyn Shepherd and Doretha Sands all of Richmond; sisters Hazel Watts of Nashville, TN, Queen Esther Burks of Oklahoma and Katherine Reagan of New York; as well as 23 grandchildren, 39 great-grand-children and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 4-8pm, Mon. 10/11 at Wilson & Kratzer - Richmond. Funeral services will be 11am, Tues. 10/12 at Providence Missionary Baptist Church, 314 So. 12th Street, Richmond.
