Elmer Lundgren Obituary

Elmer "Red" Lundgren Dec. 19, 1925 ~ Dec.30, 2010 Resident of Concord Red Lundgren passed away in his home on Thursday, December 30th. He was born on a farm in Martinez to swedish immigrants Sam Lundgren and Hilda Soder-lund. He attended Vine Hill Grammar School and graduated from Alhambra High School. Red was the owner of Lundgren Construction, building custom homes in Contra Costa County. He loved to bowl, golf, and travel, and he was active in the Lutheran Church throughout his life. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 60 years, Shirley Lundgren; and by his bothers Arvid and Karl. Red is survived by his children Betty and Jim Russow of Stockton, Pam Lundgren and Jonathon Lewis of Walnut Creek, and Susan Lundgren of Oakland; grandchildren Kathryn, Melissa, Kris, Alicia, Josiah, Zach, and Justin; and great-grandchildren James Anthony, Kyle, Kasey, Connor, Dylan, Zoe, Vivica, Jude, and Layla. Red was greatly loved and will be deeply missed by family and friends. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at 1:00pm at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 1092 Alberta Way, Concord. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent in his name to Holy Cross Lutheran Church or to the charity of your choice.
