Edward Bentein

Edward Benstein Resident of Moraga Passed away on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at his Moraga Royale Residence. Ed was born, June 18, 1916, in St. Petersburg, Russia. He was a resident of Pittsburg, CA, and Moraga Royale Assisted Living, Moraga, CA, and formerly of Detroit, Michigan and Windsor, Ontario. Ed was the father of Joseph Benstein of Northville, Michigan; Harvey Benstein of Pittsburg, CA; and Martin Benstein (deceased); and two stepsons by Margaret Benstein (deceased), Lewis Carroll of Berkeley, and Allen Carroll of San Jose; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Ed was a World War II veteran serving as a Marine in the Pacific. He was a craftsman and business owner of Ed Benstein Interiors and House of Velvet for many years in Concord, Pittsburg and Detroit, Michigan. A graveside service will be held Sunday, October 10, 2010 at 1:00pm at Oakmont Memorial Park, 2099 Reliez Valley Rd., Lafayette.
