Cecely Smith Brown

Cecely "Cessy" Smith Brown April 11, 1945 ~ Nov. 29, 2010 Resident of Lafayette After many years of health problems Cessy passed away surrounded by her devoted daughters Lynda and Tricia, her sister Lisa Mac and loving kitty "Pink Floyd". Cessy was born in Santa Cruz but lived until adulthood in Oakland. She attended Chabot, Claremont, Tech High and Heald Business College. She was the adored daughter of Stanley E. Smith and Clementine P. Smith and was the CFO of Stanley E. Smith Insurance where she worked for forty years with her father and brother-in-law Alan Mac. She was married to Allen Rogers and had two daughters Lynda Anne Owens (Art) and Patricia Cecilia Kearney. She married Thomas C. Brown in 1997 and lived with him in Walnut Creek until his death in 2006. Cessy lived for her adored grandchildren Graham and Elena Owens and Kevin and Cole Kearney. She was a fun loving, free spirit who was loved by all who knew her. Survived by her children Lynda and Tricia, son-in-law Art, sister Lisa Mac, brother-in-law Alan Mac and beloved nephew Justin Granata. She was preceded in death by her nephew Adam Granata and her parents. She will be missed every day and we can't imagine a world without our "Tatie". Arrangements were private.
