Anna Eleanor Govern Mauro July 16, 1945 ~ Feb. 3, 2011 Resident of Concord Anna Eleanor Govern Mauro of Concord, California died at home on Thursday, February 3, 2011. She was born July 16, 1945 in Sebring, Florida but spent much of her life in New York and California. She is pre-deceased by her mother, Eleanor "Daisy" Young Govern, and sister, Susan Lynn Govern. She is survived by her husband, Joseph C. Mauro of Concord, her six children and fourteen grandchildren, and a younger brother. Mrs. Mauro was an active member of the Northern California Golden Retriever Rescue. She earned a bachelor's degree and was working towards her doctorate at St. Mary's College. Services will be held at Hull's Funeral Home, 1139 Saranap Ave. in Walnut Creek on Saturday, February 12, from 3pm to 6pm, with reception to follow.
