Alfredo Rosales Obituary

Alfredo E. Rosales May 28, 1941 ~ Nov.30, 2010 Resident of Concord Passed away suddenly on November 30, 2010. Alfredo was the beloved husband of Gladys, his wife of 49 years. He is survived by his son Alfredo of Walnut Creek; daughters Ena (husband, Larry) of Benicia and Marina (husband, Craig) of San Francisco; grandchildren Daniel, David, Julian and Mia; sisters Ena Mercedes and Maria Marta; brother Ricardo; and a large extended, loving family that includes many cherished nieces and nephews. Alfredo was a doting husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother and son. Among his greatest passions was being near the water - whether boating, water skiing or simply walking along the San Francisco waterfront arm-in-arm with at least one of his many favorite relatives, but perhaps most, his mother Ena, who predeceased him nearly two years ago. Alfredo loved to tell stories, was a gifted writer and communicator, lover of travel, the opera, classical music and great food. He was also a fantastic listener. His greatest joy was being with his children and grandchildren who loved him dearly. Alfredo was born in El Salvador on May 28, 1941. He came to San Francisco as a teenager and met his sweetheart Gladys at the age of 18. His first career, which lasted for more than 20 years was in bio/pharmaceutical sales, which he loved, as he was an avid reader of biology, medical books and had an incredible memory and ability to explain the workings of the human body, to anyone who would sit down and listen. During this time he was headquartered out of Latin America and was able to travel extensively to various parts of the region and the U.S. Alfredo later became involved in real estate and had a successful career selling homes across Contra Costa County. We will miss his warm embraces, wonderful sense of humor and incredible kindness and generosity. He is now reunited with his beloved angel, "Toti," his parents, Alfredo and Ena, and brother Guillermo. Friends and family are invited to a Funeral Mass in celebration of Alfredo's life on Monday, December 6, 2010, at 11:00am at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 860 Oak Grove Road, Concord. Reception to follow.
